Scooby Doo Black and White Drawing
OK, time for another lesson, and this time around – it's how to draw Scooby Doo – obviously, one of the most famous cartoon characters of all time.
Sitting down, and looking straight forward – this lesson begins with a simple framework of circles, arranged to give you a better idea, for how the structure comes together *before* you put down any lines.
Have fun with it!
How to Draw Scooby Doo
And yes, just as stated above – it's on to that series of circles (and ovals too) – connecting to form a simple framework for out cartoon drawing of Scooby Doo.
Here's what we've got, in the very first step…
Adding to this, next – let's mark off some additional key/defining features of Scooby – the ears (pointed of course), and his arms and legs.
Here's how it looks…
And you guessed it, next – it's time to draw!
Head tilted to his right – it makes for the need to consider what parts of Scooby's head, are ideal for drawing first.
For example, if something falls further back in the drawing – then often, if you don't like erasing – or if you just like going about a drawing in a smooth sequence…
Than it helps to draw *that part* near the end.
So yes then, here's how to draw Scooby's face – nose, left eye and ear, and a bit of his mouth – like this…
So fading that part out to grey now – makes quite a bit of sense, to next go in and bring out additional parts of the head… things like the other eye, perimeter lines, etc. – sort of like below…
OK.
Next up – here's how to draw Scooby's other ear and lip, the two final parts that logically come in sequence when drawing the head.
Well, maybe not the lip – but definitely the right ear.
And then yes, do move down and begin sketching in some other parts of the character – like so…
Still going strong, next up – bring out the central part of Scooby – by sketching in more of the collar, and the chest area.
Here's how to draw Scooby Doo's collar and chest then…
And now – moving out once again (inside to outside sequence ~in effect), go ahead and sketch in his neck and shoulders – leading down to the lower part of the body.
Here he is…
OK, just a few more lines here and there now.
Go ahead and detail Scooby's dog tag – and also… get in behind the front legs, by drawing the ones in the back, naturally – in sequence.
As always though, do go about the lesson in what ever way *you think* will best help.
Here's what we've got…
Black and white lines only then, and Scooby Doo is just about ready…
But of course – all is said and drawn with a splash of Scooby Doo-esque colors, brown – black – yellow and turquoise, just like so…
And so completes another cartoon character-focused drawing tutorial.
Now you've got a pretty good idea, on how to draw Scooby Doo. Please stay tuned for more lessons to come, can't wait.
